I photographed Emma & Sean’s big day on 21st December 2015. Emma booked me in early 2014, I feel like i’ve known her a lifetime with all the personal aspects we have shared.
Emma and Sean first met 10 years ago and began dating soon after, life happened and they parted ways but when tragedy struck and Emma’s mum passed away it eventually brought them back together and they haven’t looked back since.
Unfortunately Sean fell ill with cancer in-between the booking and the big day. At one point the wedding was cancelled, because, naturally health comes first. After many unsure months it was a great relief when everything finally fell into place on the day.
The service, led by The Reverend Robert Pearce took place in St Sadwrn’s Church, Henllan and was filled with their very close family and friends, the service was personal and on entrance the beautiful sounds of string instruments filled the room.
With the largest bridal party i’ve photographed to date and with 5 of them children plus Toby & Buster their cherished dogs-I was kept busy with something happening in every corner of every room at all times! Although I don’t always require it, I had assistance to hand in the form of my sister Chantelle and she did a great job which I am really thankful for.
The reception was held at Pentre Mawr, Llandyrnog and although I had heard good things I was really impressed with the venue size, capacity and it’s services. Emma & Sean arrived at the reception via horse and carriage (naturally!) the weather was bitterly cold but it didn’t dampen anyones spirits and we still got some lovely outdoor, early evening photo time. Emma wore an embellished A Line Princess style dress with faux fur jacket which was very necessary on the day! The bridesmaids wore a varying palette of muted pastels with matching faux fur soles.
For the guests arrival the string instrument band were ready to play, with drinks available from Smooth mobile bar. The reception was decked out in a festive theme of glitter and white with a few red accents. Each table was named after a place that held meaning for Emma & Sean, with a description of why inside the place name, I read them all and found it to be a lovely touch.
The tables had plenty of entertainment available on them, ranging from Christmas hats, to nose comedy cards, to colouring books to snow globes and if that wasn’t enough Harold the magician was on hand to demonstrate his magic.
Although I wasn’t there in the evening I know they had The Sidelights playing and also a mini casino set up for the guests, a real busy scene.
The speeches were very, very emotional with emphasis on Jane, Emma’s mum and how proud she would be to see them together and happy again. Emma’s dad’s speech was extremely touching. Jane featured highly throughout the day in many ways which was so lovely and made me near tears on several occasions. It was something I kept in mind while designing their album and so I incorporated some images of Jane, with Sean’s permission from Facebook so she was present in all aspects of their special day.
Overall I would say a fun day was had by all, with entertainment galore and I wish Emma and Sean all the very best for the future. Organising their own big day has inspired Emma & Sean to enter the wedding industry with their very own wedding hire company Evelyn Jane’s Events which is Emma’s mum & grans names combined.
I’ll also be catching up with them next month for their Post Wedding shoot so they haven’t quite got rid of me yet!
Emma & Sean’s comments:
“We knew that we wanted Tash as the photographer for our wedding as soon as we saw her photos on Facebook.
She put us at ease having our photos taken at our engagement shoot with our ‘boys!’When we had the photographs back we loved them and we knew we had made the right choice. The photos are beautiful and natural.
On our wedding day she was amazing. Lots of our guests said how great she was and had never met a photographer like her before.
We didn’t have just a photographer at our wedding, we have now gained a new friend!
We can’t stop looking at our wedding photo album! The photos are stunning! The children* have been bored looking at them because i’ve been showing them all day! Haha.
Thank-you so much again and we can’t wait to do the post wedding shoot!
Much Love, The new Mr & Mrs Stewart xx”
