Hair is not my forte; I am often seen rocking the frizzy roots, relaxed middle and frazzled ends look. I resemble something from The Labyrinth when I attempt a “mum bun” and thats on a good day.

In October however, I met six ladies who’s hair was the bounciest, shiniest hair i’ve ever seen up close. I am not exaggerating. There wasn’t a split end in sight.

Hair goals I suppose you could call it. I’m totes down with the kids.

KPS Hair Lounge is situated in Bala on the high street. It’s sleek, sophisticated and airy with plenty of room to relax while you get your hair done by the experts.

The business is run by Katy Morris, Paula Preston and Sarah Kettlewell who’s initials make up the salon name, if you hadn’t already guessed!

Between them they have 50 years hairdressing experience and counting.

Fifty!

Along with them working at the salon is Amy who is qualified with 8 years experience and Hana and Eleri who are both training under the best hands.

Individually they are great at what they do, together they make a dream team.

On arrival, I was warmly greeted by Paula who I had communicated with in the run up to the day, I was immediately offered a choice of coffee or a glass of bubbly which was a lovely treat. (I went for coffee, I was driving).

Every Friday at the salon is “Fizz Friday” which is pretty self explanatory and a great idea, you can also doubly treat yourself by having a polish or shellac manicure.

What struck me most about the whole experience was how welcoming and fun the ladies were. Each of them are beyond happy to be doing the job they love and their friendships are just as obvious.

The salon website will soon be live with more images from my afternoon spent with them.

KPS Hair Lounge would also like to thank Sophia Bailey MUA for her makeup skills on the day.

Thanks for having me

Tash xx
